I enjoy using an integrated approach as there is never just one answer. Our systems work together and are reactive to each other. I use my knowledge, experience and intuition to guide me to provide the best service.
I have always had a passion for massage and it was just the next natural step to take in my life. I have been in the medical field for over 18 years working as a nurses assistant, EMT, Medical Assistant and now Massage Therapy and Yoga instructor. I feel that I have a great foundation and knowledge of the human body as well intuition for what my client needs. I am excited to be able to fulfill my dream of being a Massage Therapist and look forward to helping my community reach a higher wellness through Massage, Yoga and education.
Sarah Monarca: Yoga Instructor, Thai Yoga Therapy Practitioner
Sarah received her 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher certification in Shambhava Yoga in 2004 at the Shoshoni Yoga Retreat Ashram in Rollinsville, CO. She has taught regularly over the past 15 years. Over the last couple of years, working toward her 500-hour certification, Sarah has taken advanced teacher trainings including Meditation Teacher Training, Yoga for Well-Being, and Adjustments and Teaching Skills. She also recently completed the first two modules of Yoga Psyche Soul with Ashely Turner in Venice, CA.
Through what she learned with the Yoga for Well-Being training, Sarah is now also offering Yoga Movement Screens/Assessments. This one-on-one session is an opportunity to bring a personalized perspective by determining how to ease movement restrictions, gain strength, and thusly deepen your home and group class Yoga practice. Each session also includes opportunity for deep relaxation and/or Thai Yoga Therapy bodywork.
Thai Yoga Therapy bodywork is an ancient and sacred system of healing with roots in Yoga, Ayurvedic Medicine and Buddhist spiritual practice. It is a system of Yoga Therapy which combines rhythmic massage, acu-pressure, assisted Yoga stretching exercises, gentle twisting, energy work and meditation. This work aids in releasing stress and tension, increases vitality and well-being as it deepens the connection between mind, body and spirit in both the giver and receiver. Often, Sarah "hears" messages directly from the client's body, assisting her and the client in a deeply healing experience. A session is practiced on a mat on the floor, while fully clothed for 1.5 - 2 hours.
Encouraged by Sarah's own personal psychological, spiritual, and emotional healing brought on by practicing and teaching Yoga, she contiues to learn to cultivate a better understanding of how Yoga can help facilitate true and deep healing. It is Sarah’s goal to help guide people toward physical, emotional, social, and spiritual joy through the practices of Hatha Yoga, Meditation, group engagement, and Thai Yoga Therapy.
Personal note from Sarah: I also love my dog Louis, adventures, and the outdoors. I am very passionate about food and its role in well-being, I also love to cook, bake, and prepare raw vegan goodies!
